Scammers are ruining Craigslist. This site is an attempt to clean up Craigslist for people who legitimately want to buy and sell their used items without paying insertion fees, in the true spirit of the early days of Craigslist.
The way it works is simple. If you have been scammed or approached by someone who has tried to scam you (see: clues and giveaways) then submit your report by clicking the 'report a scammer link'.
If you are thinking about buying something off Craigslist, come to this site first, and search for that person's email. You will then be able to see if they have been reported as a likely scammer. While this isn't foolproof, it will at least force scammers to sign up for new email addresses. You might think that it's pointless to track an email address that will only get used once or twice, but if no one tracks these emails then spammers can save time by re-using the same address for multiple targets. Every bit of time that can be stolen from a scammer is a small victory.
